Coming Events and Services in Mimico  

Beginning November 30th an Advent Series that will ask after each encounter with the Christmas story, “What do you come away with?” We will be coming to Christmas this year as children anxious to see what is for them under the tree. Come curious with open hearts and hands. Are you finally going to get what you want for Christmas?

Below is a list of Christmas services at Mimico Baptist Church:


Sunday Nov. 30th:

11:00 What Mary Received for Christmas, Luke 1:26-56; 2:1-7

5:00 pm: Church Family Christmas Dinner: Sign up for what you will contribute to the pot luck meal. Turkey and beverages provided. Dinner followed by a program of carol singing and more.

Sunday Dec. 7th:

11:00 What the Shepherds Received for Christmas, Luke 2:8-20

6:30 Christmas Concert, Redeemed, by our youth.

Sunday Dec. 14th: Christmas Cantata – Our choir presents, And Glory Shone Around

Sunday Dec. 21st: 11:00 What the Magi Received for Christmas, Matthew 2:1-12

Wednesday Dec. 24th: 6:30 – 7:15 Christmas Eve Candle Light Service: The Difference a Saviour Makes, A wonderful family service followed by light refreshments.

Sunday Dec. 28th 11:00 Message by Rev. Alvin Lau

89th Anniversary Service January 25th Guest Speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Brian Craig, new BCOQ Director of Leadership Development.

Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Mississauga City Baptist Church, 3434 Cawthra Rd. (between Burnhamthorpe and Bloor streets in Mississauga) Our Message is a mix of soulful harmonies, handclapping beats and traditional favourites, infused by the energy of the children performing live. Advance tickets: $20 includes free CD (plus applicable service charges when ordering online). $10 at the door. CDs will be sold for $20 at the concert. Sunday Dec. 7th, 4-6 pm: Community Tree Lighting Festival: Amos Waites Park, (Lakeshore and Mimico) (our Community Children’s Choir will be performing)

Monday Dec. 8th at 7 pm Carolfest: We're hoping to see people from all 83 Toronto Baptist churches at TBM's annual multicultural festival of Christmas music, drama, dance, and food. The talented Lwamba women, soloists from Yorkminster Park, and Lisle Memorial and Karen (Burmese) choirs will sing; organist Imre Olah will lead us in familiar carols; Glencairn Baptist women will perform a traditional Filipino dance; The Dramatic Change Youth Theatre will present a clip from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Monday December 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Walmer Road Baptist Church (Walmer Rd. and Lowther, parking available or take the subway to Spadina).
