Corinthians 11:17-34

Jesus
gave the church a meal to share regularly as an act of
remembrance and worship. It was to be a time of communion
around his table. In Corinth the meaning of this meal was lost
in selfishness and divisions. Paul writes to remind them of
the purpose and significance of the meal.

Jesus
had his own personal "Lent" in the sense that he
temporarily gave up His glory to walk the earth as a man to
accomplish our redemption. In turn, we must practice a
heart-version of "Lent" throughout our entire
lifetime. From Colossians 2 and Philippians 2

On
the week before Jesus died there was a celebration as he came
in to Jerusalem. The people welcomed their Messiah and King
but did not understand what Jesus’ mission involved. We
on the other side of Easter can understand and exalt the
coming King. It is for us to celebrate and declare to the
world, “Fear not! Your King is coming! Hosanna! Lord
save us now!”

Resurrection
Life
In 1 Corinthians 1
the Apostle Paul gives an extensive teaching on the realities
of resurrection. He addresses some of life and death’s
most pressing questions. It is a message of hope and
encouragement. We will take a few weeks to soak in this good
news.
